At a meeting of the Economic Development & Enterprise Strategic Policy Committee held in Cabinteely, I encouraged greater Irish participation in the COSME EU programme, which is a support fund for small and medium enterprises. Ireland needs to make a number of regulatory changes to avail of such funding to the greatest extent possible, so that ultimately local businesses in Dun Laoghaire-Rathdown can then derive the same benefits that other countries such as the UK, France and Germany currently enjoy.
